Death rates continued to decline for all cancers combined, as well as for most cancer sites for men and women of all major racial and ethnic populations. In contrast, death rates due to liver cancer have increased the most compared with all cancer sites, and liver cancer incidence rates have also increased sharply.

Annual Report to the Nation: Overall cancer mortality continues to decline

The latest Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer finds that, for all cancer sites combined, cancer death rates continued to decline in men, women, and children in the United States from 1999 to 2016.
