Northville, MI (Law Firm Newswire) September 30, 2022 – Login.gov is the latest in technological innovations being put to good use by Veterans Affairs (VA). Given the number of websites, it was time to simplify access to make the user experience easier for website visitors. Having one login that does it all allows veterans to access existing and new federal government websites.
Currently, vets can log into VA.gov, MyHealtheVet, and the mobile health and benefits application using Login.gov. For those wishing to find out more information about the Health and Benefits mobile app, go HERE: Health and Benefits mobile app.
The Login.gov project and application are in response to an Executive Order by President Biden, the Executive Order on Transforming Federal Customer Experience. This application is a shining example of utilizing technology to provide services that offer convenient access and support to veterans transitioning to civilian life.
Login.gov is a part of a package of other digital offerings: the relaunch of VA.gov, the mobile application that allows veterans to track and schedule medical appointments. For more information on Login.gov, go HERE: Login.gov.
Login.gov allows those accessing it to sign in to participating government agencies. The user is asked to create a Login.gov account using a password and user name, allowing the user to access any agency partner. Using only one password and user name streamlines the process, and users do not have to remember multiple user names and passwords.
The website also secures accounts when veterans apply for federal jobs (USAJOBS), TSA Precheck and Global Entry, Small Business loans, and disaster assistance. Some agencies require identity verification. That can be a photo ID to confirm an identity. It is not used to determine service eligibility.
Two-factor authentication is enabled to ensure safe access for all user accounts. Users cannot use a claim number and password, the preferred access mode.
When users attempt to sign in, they can click on the same button with login.gov, and the website will direct them to Services Online. There is access to common help. Users can also find a section with common topics. Users may use the login.gov Contact Form if they need additional support.
